I'm Viviana and I am a third-year medical student attending Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. I am currently towards the end of my clerkship year and will be starting a gap year where I will obtain an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

I graduated from college in 2020 and took two gap-years to take the MCAT, gain clinical experience, and live my life. I applied to 11 DO and 29 MD school and during the 2021-2022 application cycle; got 23 interview invites (declined a few) and 8 acceptances.

I am not only a first-generation medical student, but also a first-generation Latina immigrant to the US. I struggled to see myself in this career when I was younger and had little-to-no mentors growing up. Now that I am here, I am doing all I can to help others like me who are confused, lost, and/or worried about their future application.

I do mock interviews and review personal statements, secondaries, and the activities section of your application. I am also here if you need some advice on whether to take a gap year or if you are ready to apply for the upcoming cycle.
