Hello! My name is Susan, and I’m a first year General Surgery resident in Ontario, recently graduated from the University of British Columbia’s MD program.
I was born in Shanghai, raised in Vancouver, and completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto with a specialist in Pharmacology. Over the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of working with more than 350 students, helping them navigate both medical school and residency applications. From strategic planning and application editing to MMI prep and interview coaching, I’ve supported students across every stage of their MD journey—with many achieving over a 50% improvement in NAQ and interview scores, and successfully gaining admission to their first-choice medical schools.
As a first-generation university student with no healthcare connections, I understand the uncertainty and pressure of applying. When I was applying, I was told by many that I wouldn’t get in—but I still received interviews at UBC, U of T, and Queen’s in my first cycle. Now, I’m here to pay it forward.
Services I offer:
- Longitudinal planning for MD and residency applicants
-High-impact NAQ/ABS and essay editing
-Personalized interview coaching (MMI, panel, CaRMS)
-Mentorship for first-generation and underrepresented students
My top advice:
Your story matters more than your stats. Take the time to reflect: Who are you? What experiences shaped your path to medicine? What strengths will make you a compassionate and capable physician? The key to standing out is building a cohesive, authentic narrative—and I’d be honored to help you craft it.
If you're ready to start your application journey or level up for the next cycle, I’m here to help. Let’s get to work! :)
