My name is Sogol, and I’m a first-year dentistry student at the University of Toronto. I graduated from Western University with an Honours Specialization in Kinesiology, with Distinction. During my time at Western, I actively engaged in leadership, mentorship, community building, and volunteering, while also pursuing my hobbies in piano and painting. These experiences not only made my four years of study memorable but also paved the way for my dream of becoming a dentist.

In my first application cycle, I was accepted to both the University of Toronto and Western University. I attribute my success to starting my application preparation early and connecting with as many mentors as possible, including current dental students and practicing dentists. This approach allowed me ample time to reflect on my experiences and effectively demonstrate how they have shaped me into a resilient applicant and future dentist.

With a comprehensive understanding of the application process and over four years of experience working with diverse students, I’ve developed strong mentoring skills. I’ve helped my piano students excel in their conservatory exams and achieve their certifications, and I’ve guided university students in reaching their academic goals and overcoming challenges.
