I'm Sara, a Phase One student at the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC). I was accepted to OVC on my first application after completing four years of undergraduate studies in Health Sciences at Queen's University. Having recently navigated the OVC admissions process myself, I understand how overwhelming, confusing, and high-pressure the application journey can feel. I remember what it was like to balance uncertainty, self-doubt, and the challenge of figuring out how to present myself authentically.

As a consultant, my goal is to use my firsthand experience and knowledge of the OVC application process to help applicants feel more confident and supported. I will work closely with you to articulate your experiences, strengths, and motivations in a way that is genuine and compelling.

Much of my own veterinary experience was equine-focused when I was applying to OVC, which has given me a strong understanding how how students with predominantly large animal, equine, single-species, or more focused experience can effectively showcase their skills and perspectives while still demonstrating breadth, reflection, and alignment with OVC's core values. I am particularly passionate about helping applicants turn what they may see as "non-traditional" or "niche" experiences into clear strengths that help their application stand out.

In addition, I am a class Co-President for my OVC cohort. This role has strengthened my leadership, communication, and mentorship skills; it has given me valuable insight into the culture, expectations, and community within OVC. I am committed to advocating for and supporting future applicants, and I take pride in helping students feel prepared and confident as they pursue their goal of becoming a veterinarian.
