Hi all! My name is Mateo and I am entering my second year of medical school at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix.

Before medical school I completed my B.S. at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities studying Neuroscience and a B.A. in Spanish Studies. Bein thoroughly involved in research during my undergraduate and coupling my interest in Spanish with the hard sciences really made for a fulfilling undergraduate experience. During the summers I spent time at home and completed internships as some medical device companies across Minnesota.

As a third time applicant to medical school I've learned so much about the medical school application process and how unique everyone's journey to medical school is, and I am excited to share that with you all. In my third and final application cycle I was lucky enough to be accepted to the University of Minnesota Medical School, Penn State University College of Medicine, Wayne State University School of Medicine, and Creighton University School of Medicine. I received interviews at 7 schools in total, including the ones listed above, University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Boston University School of Medicine, and Weill Cornell Medical College. The support from family and friends I received from others during the application process was crucial to my success and I’m looking forward to providing the same help to future applicants.
