Hi everyone! My name is Jessica and I am a second-year medical student at Schulich School of Medicine (M2). The key to being successful in the application process is to plan ahead. If its your first time applying the application cycle it can be overwhelming. The written applications are different per school, there is Casper, and you need to be prepared for different interview styles - traditional, MMI, and panel. I have 2 years of experience mentoring pre-med students through the entire process and many are highly successful applicants. I also have nearly 2 years of experience working as an Academic Advisor for undergraduate students at Western University.

Interview Preparation Service:

I can provide insight on my experience interviewing at 4 different medical schools using all three different interview styles. I definitely would have prepared slightly differently for each school with the knowledge I have now. If you’re like me and can get nervous during interview day, early preparation and continual detailed feedback is essential for you to perform at your best! I started interview prepping months in advance and received a lot of feedback that improved my interviewing skills from my medical student mentors. Before their advice, I hadn't considered using different public speaking techniques like sign posting, STAR method, and CANMED framework. The goal is to be able to consistently and clearly answer questions within the allocated time while showcasing what your "unique narrative" is that aligns with what they want to see in their medical students.

Casper Preparation Service:

Based on my interview offers, I am confident with my ability to provide CASPER advice. Despite my CARS score being my lowest MCAT component (127) I was able to get an interview at Mcmaster/Ottawa/Queens likely because the other parts of my application like CASPER and extracurriculars were well framed. I can provide tips on how to tackle each of the prompts in a timely manner with a set framework and proper preparation prior to starting.

Other topics like applying to a masters, travel abroad, life in medical school, etc are also welcome.
