Connect the Docs Mentorship Program

I currently serve as the Director of Undergraduate Communications for our medical school's undergraduate mentorship organization. I help recruit undergrads to join and be paired with a medical student mentor at our campus. I also participate in many of the AED and other pre-health club meetings and help guide their medical student panels.

2023 - 2024

General Surgery Interest Group

I currently serve as the vice president of my school's general surgery interest group. I am working to build up the amount of surgical exposure UHCOM students receive and the availability of surgical mentorship and research for those interest in surgery. I also work with the our fourth year students in finding resources to help prepare them for residency applications and interviews.

COM Student Ambassador

I currently serve as a student ambassador for my medical school. I aid the admissions office in running tours and second look days as well as large recruiting events. This year, I will begin serving as a student panelists during each of the interview days the school. I'll be asnwering applicant questions about our school in general and what the interview and application process looks like at UHCOM.

I was recently elected to our class of 2026 student council as a learning community representative. My job is to run the logistics of my learning community and to foster a group where fellowship and non-judgemental support are paramount. I also help the student council organize student events to make sure everyone is having fun during medical school.

I recently began working at a large academic medical institution outside of my own medical school to better prepare me for a career in academic surgery. I work on projects surrounding surgical quality improvement and surgical oncological equity amongst underserved populations.

I currently serve as a member of a MSTF for the American College of Surgeons. I work with my colleagues to develop new and intriguing surgical curriculum for medical schools to use nationwide as well as increasing the access to surgical exposure for all medical students.

I serve as the student leader and director for my main surgical research lab at my home medical school campus. I run and publish my own projects along with mentoring our younger students and undergraduates on their projects.

LCME Accreditation Committee

I serve as the M3 lead analyst and writer on our medical school's LCME accreditation committee. I work directly with the dean of medicine and other upper faculty to express student concerns pertinent to the medical school accreditation process. This has helped to to learn much about the logistics and behind the scenes work of academic medicine.
